Hi,

I just wanted to put up a note. Wicked North Games is changing our business model. As part of that, all of our PDF versions of our products will remain FREE indefinitely. This includes the full version of Azamar, and will include all future full products (Westward), etc.

You can get several online here:

http://www.wickednorthgames.com/

And on

http://www.drivethrurpg.com

If you like them and want a physical book, you can get the high quality print versions directly from us:

http://shop.cinema6games.com

There print on demand version of Azamar is available on Drivethrurpg, but I do not recommend it at this time. We are selling it at print cost, however.

That is fantastic.

What did you mean about the POD version? Are you dissatisfied with the drivethru books? I take it the books you sell directly were printed by someone else? I have toyed with the idea of moving my POD books to drivethru from lulu, but have been too busy to get serious about analyzing the decision. And I look forward to buying one of said books.

The print on demand stuff from DTRPG uses the printing press http://www1.lightningsource.com/

Lightning Source is the POD portion of Ingram: http://www.ingramcontent.com/pages/home.aspx

Because of the relationship that DTRPG has with Lightning Source, you cannot change the quality of the paper used by Lightning Source unless you use them directly, as DTRPG does not give you the options needed to determine binding type, paper weigth (70# vs 60# paper, etc). We very specifically got books printed using a local printer and bindery in NH where we could control the quality through the entire process. Our books were printed locally, and then sent to a bindery Massachusetts, where the perfect stitch bound them with colors (yellow/green) to match the color scheme of the book cover. The will hold up for a long time. I think its worth the difference in quality if you can get books printed at the minimum quantites by a local printing press. In some cases, many of them will only require you do short print runs of 10-20. A Readily affordable amount if you're doing personal sales to get things up and running. ROD tends to sacrifice a lot n an industry where the quality means so much and will make a product on the shelf stand out.
