Background: Kev was born on the planet Bonadan one of the busiest worlds in the Corporate Sector. His father worked for the Karoma Corporation making modulators for binary load lifters. Every now and then he would bring home a defective part for Kev to play with. Pretty soon, Kev would have the part functional and out-performing anything the company produced. By the age of sixteen, Kev was working alongside his father in the facility helping to design newer and better parts for load lifters and other droids. When he reached eighteen years, he was head of the department.


After three years at Karoma, Kev decided he wanted to stretch his legs a bit. He signed up for a job at OrranTech, a small starship sublight and hyper drive manufacturer that was occasionally outsourced to build drives for larger corporations like Corellian Engineering and Rendili StarDrive. He quickly rose to senior tech at the company just before it was bought out by Kuat Drive Yards. Not enjoying the new management's style of rule, Kev left the company after five years of employment.


He took a job as a ship's mechanic aboard the Rampant Runner shortly after leaving OrranTech. So far things have been relatively simple, basic preventive maintenance and minor repair work along with the occasional overhaul have been the only thing going for him. Now, with the recent rebellion against the Empire, he's hoping that things might liven up a bit.


Kev's astromech, R5-LX97 (Elex) has been with him since he purchased the droid while working with his father at Karoma. The droid hasn't had a memory wipe since he was purchased and has developed a unique personality. Elex comes off as a rather grumpy and bull-headed little droid, but Kev seems to take its abusive tones with stride. Most of the time, communication between them is translated through Kev's pocket computer, but some sounds have become rather familiar and he answers them appropriately when he hears them.


Personality: Kev is an excitable young man and can be too talkative for some folks. It's probably because the only conversation he normally gets is with Elex, his trusty, rusty astromech and he is eager for more sentient company. He sometimes falls into the habit of talking to himself about whatever he is working on. Otherwise, he is a friendly and dependable sort of fellow that you could trust your life with in any situation.


Objectives: Kev hopes to earn enough credits to open his own repair shop some day.

Background: Quadrinex was hatched in the Verpine Hive in the early years of Palpatine's Chancellery. During the Clone Wars, a small minority of Verpine supported the Separatist movement and left the Hive to form a new colony hive called Oort, far from the Roche system. Quadrinex was one of the youth taken to the colony's remote asteroid home in the Freeworlds Region of the Tapani Sector. The secret kuiper belt colony survived the Clone Wars undiscovered, and continued to operate as an outlaw tech station as Quadrinex grew into adulthood during the early days of the Galactic Empire.


Over the course of the past decade, Quadrinex started to make a name for himself in the underworld of the Tapani Sector as an expert computer slicer and data forger, operating on several of the Freeworlds while still calling the Oort Planetoid his base of operations and true home. His best customers were a lot of the smugglers who bought illegal starship upgrades from the Oort Colony, and he even began to consider some of the smugglers to be his friends. One of his best friends was a smuggler captain whose business began to become so lucrative he needed almost regular forged documents and computer slicing to maintain it. This smuggler's enterprises took on an increasingly larger scale encompassing the Colonies all the way to the Mid Rim, and it began to become a burden to return to Tapani so frequently for Quadrinex's services. So the captain offered the Verpine the opportunity to join his crew on a few trade runs, and Quadrinex jumped at the chance to see the galaxy.


On the ship's first stop outside of the Colonies, Quadrinex was just completing a minor repair on the gunnery station's power coupling when the ship suddenly blasted off, knocking the Verpine into the gunnery chair. The captain screamed through the ship's intercom for someone to blast the fighters converging on them, and Quadrinex obliged. A few lucky shots and Quadrinex damaged one fighter and destroyed another by the time the ship escaped into hyperspace. The captain was pleased.


A few runs turned into a very successful year, with many credits deposited into Quadrinex's bank account. Quadrinex had several opportunities to refine his professional skills and blast some more ships along the way. He had a good time, but some things were too good to last. Things eventually got too hot for comfort, so the Verpine decided it was time to return to his home in Tapani. Besides, he missed his hive, his friends and his home sector.


When he returned to the Oort Planetoid, Quadrinex was shocked to find that the entire colony had been wiped-out! The base was in complete ruin, and he could not find a single hivemate who had survived. His closest mentors, and even his young offspring, were all dead. Quadrinex attempted to compose himself to investigate what had happened, who did this, and why? But he only got as far as realizing that the destruction was very recent, and he began to fear for his life. Whoever was responsible for this massacre may be gunning for him too.


Quadrinex felt he had to get far away from the Tapani Sector, and fast. He had to lay low. So Quadrinex forged some new fake I.D.s and hitched a one-way ride to the Outer Rim to start over as a new person. There he heard about a captain who needed another gunner to complete his crew on a ship running legitimate cargoes through pirate-infested regions of space, and that sounded like a decent job as any so he signed on.


Personality: Quadrinex may look like your typical Verpine, but he is actually far from it. Quadrinex does not tend to get too curious and excited about things, but he's not quick to correct people when they make presumptions about him based on his species. Verpine are widely known to be legitimate technicians, and that reputation only helps Quadrinex maintain his cover as a computer repairman. He is content to fade into the background and not draw a lot of attention to himself, and when needed he will take advantage of the common inability of other species to tell the difference between him and other Verpine ("All those bug-guys look the same"). Quadrinex is often paranoid that he is being followed. He would like to someday take revenge on whomever destroyed his colony, but at the same time he is afraid that digging too deep into that mystery will only bring the killers to him.


Objectives: Quadrinex mostly just wants to make a new life for himself in the Outer Rim. His fear of being found usually overwhelms his curiosity to find out who destroyed his hive, and his desire to avenge them.

Kellan wasn’t one to work for someone else, her drive and personality made it clear that she wouldn’t be happy unless she was working for herself, doing things on her own terms.


Personality: Kellan is a very friendly women, even to people she doesn’t trust. She has the ability to hide her distrust and she always does Due Diligence when doing a run.


Objectives: To pay off the crime boss she borrowed the money from to buy The Rampant Runner

Background: As Dugong reminisces about his youth, and since he's getting older he does that ever more often, he remembers it bathed in golden sunbeams cut through the thick forest canopy. A savage beginning on the forest moon of Endor was not easy, but it had a rugged simplicity of life and death that can't be found in the byzantine streets where his life has led. And besides, he excelled in the primitive tribe that he was born to. While Dugong's nestmates were still trying to spear ruggers, he was riding a rakazzak beast in pursuit of boar-wolves and the ferocious hanadak. He grew in skill, stature, and the esteem of his tribe.


Naturally everything changed when they met the armoured folk from the stars, who had chased a criminal to the forest moon. Dugong proudly told them he was the one skilled enough to find their quarry. This hunt was more difficult than any he had undertaken before, because unlike a beast that crashes through the undergrowth, this prey was cunning and prodigious. At times the trail disappeared completely, only to be found again high up in the boughs of trees. As they pushed their way deeper into the darkening forest, Dugong started to track his prey less with his senses and more with the feeling that he knew this creature that he had never met. And so eventually, in a glade deep in the Arbo Maze, they encircled her and it was the most dramatic fight that Dugong had ever seen. This Jedi could bound about cutting her pursuers to bits with her laser-sword, and even repel the bright bolts cast by the armored men. But there were many more of them than her, and she could not repel all the bolts, so their hunt was successful and Dugong returned to his tribe to tell the story of his help in the destruction of a beast more dangerous than any other of them had met.


Sadly, his renown as a hunter and the rich pay of glittering metals and cleverly-crafted beads that he had earned from the armoured men did not win him the heart of his beloved. She was luxuriantly furred and had legs long and supple like saplings. Dugong has never spoken her name to an offworlder, whose ears would only confuse the melody that his lips sing last when he falls asleep, and he would be embarrassed to tell them that at the Chosing Time, she picked a different male, a mere short netweaver with no fame. A humiliated Dugong left the tribe, taking the armoured men's offer to hunt for them across the stars.


At first he was elated with the wonders that he found among the myraid worlds they took him to, and he learned more than the wisest of his tribe's elders could know. He proved his skills tracking clever prey in climates that he had never experienced before. He learned about technology, and cities, and the confused politics of these "Clone Wars" that the galaxy had become embroiled in. As he learned more about the creatures and cultures of the galaxy, the less regard he felt for his employers. In the beginning, they had hunted deadly Jedi, but increasingly they demanded Dugong follow the tracks of terrified politicians, escaped slaves, even younglings. He was treated like an animal by men filthier than beasts, and paid less for finding a quarry across parsecs than the thugs who pulled the triggers once the quarry had nowhere left to run. Dugong left them in disgust in the middle of a job, though that added him to the list of the hunted, but by now he knew that the galaxy was a big place to get lost in.


He has worked whatever jobs have come his way, often for only the price of transport to another planet. He picked juji fruits, smuggled imitation dragon pearls, stole the secret formula for Gizer ale, failed as a dejarik hustler, and sang with a band playing gungan bluegrass. He squandered his fortune spice-prospecting on Mima II, but the fishing was good, and he only left because an agent of the Black Sun recognized him. He has been hanging around the moon Koradu for too long because he had to detonate his ship to fool some nosy thugs from a deathstick cartel. He's been involved in enough shady deals that he's collected grudges across the galaxy, and hiding has been his way of life for too long.


Personality: Quiet, inquisitive yet skeptical, enjoys a good laugh, likes to sing but sensitive that others of his species are kept as pets for their singing abilities, has been homesick for so long that it's just a dull ache at the back of his mind.


Objectives: To return home a hero.
