Syria Sector- Keys to Darkness (IC)

The Arkanian glanced at Gyn for a moment before he tried to address Buroc, only to find that he had disappeared into the crowd.

Buroc calmed slightly as Dante dragged him through the crowd, security had trouble getting through the crowd. It seemed as if the crowd were trying to prevent the ship's security from getting to the Trandoshian. Unimpeded Dante and Buroc made it out of the Casino. In the common area outside of the Casino there are various beings walking about, checking data terminals and relaxing. However this changed after a few seconds when a frigate eclipsed the starlight through the observation window. Some of the crowd stood on awe while others gripped tight to their friends or significant others. The ships' size wasn't provoking the reaction as much as the symbol of the Katana Guild on the hull.

"Looks like we have some big shots here. Perhaps if you get me too them I could make it worth your while." Buroc partly stammered as the image took him by surprise.

Within the Casino a Human entered from the Bar entrance and began question the crowd about the Trandoshian, that clearly wasn't here at the moment.

(Gyn you acquired a keycard and data chip)

The Fregate was way too close to be friendly. If Dante was correct it wouldn't be long before whoever man the fregate would be boarding the ship soon. And as surprised as he was to see the huge ship, Buros's reaction was as surprising.

wait, you know who they are? Pirates I assume.... who are you? I took you through the crowd way too easily, and now you want to be brought to those pirates?

To his usual Dante realised he may have step into something bigger than him. All he wanted was his canisters back... unless he could play his card well in this new take...

Satisfied with his prize, the shadowy pickpocket flowed with the crowd towards one of the nearby exits before slipping out into the corridor. Careful not to draw too much attention to himself, he continued down the hall for about a minute or so before drawing his datapad and sliding one of his newest acquisitions into one of the available dataports. It was while he was waiting for the data to load that he took note of the frigate eclipsing the window outside. Uttering a mild curse under his breath, he picked up his pace slightly as he checked the keycard he'd stolen for a room number. It looked like they'd decided to add another player to this little game, which meant of course that he was going to have to pick up the pace if he was to get out of this unnoticed.

-Dante-

"I am the Vice Administrator of the Confederation's Trade Commission." He paused for a moment, then stared at the Guild's symbol, "I have... contracts with them. Listen if they know I'm here and your with me I'm sure I can negotiate a way for the both of us to leave... unharmed." His voice sounded fearful.

The Katana Guild Frigate kept pace with the Denel for a few minuets before pulling away enough into the distance where the entire vessel can be seen.

-Gyn-

The screen of the datapad came to life when the datachit was inserted.

The card has several small security numbers on its bule/gold surface, but the most prominate number is 261. The room should be on deck two as most of deck one is recreation.

The beings in the common area were far too distracted by the observation window to bring much traffic to the lifts scattered across the chamber. A tension was building from the beings as some of them finally came to terms with what was most likely going to happen. Soon there would be a panic from the less hardened individuals of the Denel.

Dante rose an eyebrow. He looked at the ship that was now taking almost the entire viewport and knew he could be a bit late to try to make a run for it.

On the other hand he still had business to do here. And though he didn't like that Buroc, maybe he could strike a deal with him.

So how many time am I suppose to help you save your hide today, hmm? I have a feeling that Arkanian could have cut you down in no time back there, and now those Katana guys...

Well I tell you what... rumor has it you won some TTI canisters earlier in the day. You give them to me and you got yourself a deal. I'll help you get safely to whoever you need to get to and you can negotiate our safe way out. I have my ship ready to leave, I can even drop you off somewhere.

Dante presented his hand to the Tandroshan, gesture of acceptance of a deal should the other shake the hand back.

The chaos of the adverted brawl combined with the panic caused by the sudden appearance of the Katana Guild seemed to be working in his favor, as the figure was able to make his way over to the lift shafts with little to no distractions. From there it was a short trip up to the next deck and a slight walk down the hall to his destination. Once there he plugged the key he'd pilfered from the Trandoshan into the appropriate slot on the door and waited to see the result. Assuming that this was indeed the correct room, then he would merely look like one of the many passengers scurrying to secure their valuables. If not... well there was always Plan B...

-Dante-

Buroc gripped Dante's hand, "I just want to get out alive. I can lose some winnings." h stared at the ships for a moment more, "They're in my cabin, 261."

The Trandoshian turned and steeled himself, bottling up the stress of the situation. He strode towards the nearest lift, leading the way.

-Gyn-

The hallway was empty, there wasn't even security. The reader accepted the card, but the electronic lock didn't change, the entry light remained unlit.

Cursing under his breath at the apparent conspiracy working against him finishing this job efficiently, Gyn removed the passcard and checked it for damage before attempting to swipe it again. He then took a moment to examine the cardreader and lock themselves, checking to see if there was some additional layer of security that he wasn't familiar with from his own cabin. If that was indeed the case then he was going to be seriously pissed, he didn't have time for this sort of poodu after all.

Looking for additional security measures at first doesn't unveil anything, until you look deeper. Unlatching the panel to gain access to its circuitry was too easy and some poking around shows why. This lock has been 'picked' rather recently and whomever did it was too hasty in putting the panel back together. The connections to the reader and the locking mechanism aren't connected properly, it would only take a few seconds to fix.

Less then amused that someone had apparently tried to beat him to the punch, Gyn quickly set about reassembling the locking mechanism properly. A few seconds later he was ready to try again, his free hand hanging down near his utility belt just in case he encountered trouble on the other side of the door. Sliding the card once again, he waited for the door to slide open and reveal the room on the other side. Ready for whatever or whomever might await him in the room beyond.

Dante nodded at the Tandroshan. "Let's go to your quarters then, the sooner we can leave this ship the better I'll feel."

He followed Burloc toward his cabin. Bringing his comlink to his mouth he contacted his droid. "Teebo, make sure our 'companion' has loaded the merchandise. Let me know when it's done and get the engines warm, we may have to leave fast."

Trying to make conversation on the way, he asked the Tandroshan: "So, who are those Katana guys? Ain't the security able to handle them?"

The door to Buroc's quarters slid open. Within was a living area adorned with symbol tapestries and contained a couch set near a holo-entertainmnet system with a kitchen area in the corner along with a deactivated droid auto-chef. The droid looks as if it suffered some kind of malfunction with its arms frozen in a bizarre manner and it only had one of it's optical sensors glowing, an expanded restraining bolt is pinned to its metallic chest.

There are four doors in immediate view. One is just to the left after the entry way. The second on the wall within the kitchen area. Another on the same wall, but outside the kitchen zone. The Final one is across from the kitchen zone designed to be less noticeable with a color scheme similar to the sand brown walls under the tapestries, though the door toggle is not dulled.

-Dante-

Teebo whistled an acknowledgment as you enter the lift and the doors close. The trandoshian punched in the deck number. A low bit version of Ithroian music played as the lift moved.

"The Katana Guild are a ruthless bunch. They have been known to steal or extort cargo then leave the vessel with dissabled propulsion and life support systemss. That is of course assuming they don't destroy you or you find someway to be usseful." He paused in reflection for a moment, "When I've had dealings with the Guild they had brought beings with slugthrowers in military grade armor, or at least it appeared that way. From what I've seen on the Denel the active smugglers may be able to hold their own, but the security would have a harder time, unless the armory has anti-assault gear. Cruise ships aren't known for their weapons or security... I wonder why the ship isn't under attack already? It looked like there were enough ships."

Aware of the time crunch he was under, Gyn decided to make a quick assumption, hoping that the floor plan for this cabin was similar to his own and made a break for the door which would have led to the sleeping area in his own quarters. Assuming this was a universal setup, then that was also where the safe was likely to be.

Moving swiftly you trigger the door panel just outside the kitchen area. Beyond the door is a luxurious room layout with a large variable tension bed, independent environmental controls and a safe. The rather warm room was not unoccupied as there were four individuals around the safe one crouched down with tools. These were the small group that vanished slightly before the scuffle in the casino. One, a Bothan male, was opening the safe.

"Finally." announced the Bothan.

A nearby female human glanced over, "Is the amulet there?"

"Yes."

A Gran glanced towards the door with one of it's eyes, "We have company..."

The fourth individual was a Weequay who turned towards the door.

"Well if someone in the bridge is buying us some time, so much the better! I'm not looking forward to confronting those acquaintances of yours. But I'll be as ruthless as they are if no negotiation is possible."

He watched his chrono, hoping his desire to get the canisters back would not cost him more than what he had bargained for.

His thoughts wandered for a second then he added out loud: "The Denel had made bargains with the smugglers, I wonder if some more unscrupulous mind would also have made some deals with the Guild... Let's hurry up shall we? I have a bad feeling about all this."

Realizing that he'd been spotted, Gyn decided to wing this one with his usual flair and see where it took him. He was fairly certain that he could take the four burglars if it came down to it, it was just a question of whether he had the time to do so given the current crisis. He had to take this one step at a time though, and first things first, he needed that amulet. With that in mind he began moving into the room, doing his best to maintain the gap between him and the gang as he moved over to one side of the room in an attempt to get a better look inside the safe and locate his target. "Stop me if you've heard this one... A Bothan, Weequay, Gran, and Human break into a suite on a cruise ship. They're so sure that no one would have noticed them leaving the casino during the brawl they engineered that they don't even bother posting a lookout. And as if the universe were playing a sick joke on them because of this oversight, upon locating their prize a devilishly handsome stranger appears seemingly out of nowhere and asks, 'Whatcha doooin'?'" As he finished with his adorable catchphrase, he reached out with the Force and tried to pull the amulet to him before the thieves realized what was going on. Hopefully the ensuing confusion would buy him enough time to bolt.

-Dante-

"Maybe they'll like you and let your ship go."

The low bit music ended as the lift doors opened. Buroc began at a brisk pace as soon as the way was clear. The two navigated the plain passenger corridors smoothly noting that it was empty of either civilian or security. Though that fact didn't seemed noticed by the rushing reptile. He reached to pull out his Key Card and insert it and was surprised when his scaled fingers hit the card reader. His passenger card was wasn't there. The trandoshian let out a noise part hiss and growl as he started searching his own pockets.

Dante followed the Trandoshan, the music still playing in his head despite being far from the turbolift already. He rested his left hand on his blaster as he scrutinized the corridors.

"Have you ever been in a ship attacked by pirates before?" He paused a second let the gambler respond but he seemed too distracted looking for his keycard. "Well it includes a lot of people running around in panic and security trying to smooth things down... all I'm saying is it's too silent to be real."

He looked around him one more time and added:

"Just press the open button, maybe you didn't lock it when you left", pointing at the control buttons next to the card reader.

-Gyn-

The Gran's eye stalks blink while the weequay and human turned to face the uninvited guest with hands going to now visible holsters. The Bothan seemed too preoccupied by the amulet in his hand to notice.

The weequay responded first, "We should gun him."

The human female ignored her companion's remark and just smirked, "Just accomplishing today's mission, if you're after something specific take it. We are aren't snobbish thieves."

The Bothan's item of preoccupation began to stir and move towards the new arrival as if by some magnetic force. he futilely tried to hold on as it's silver and gold chain slipped through his fingers. The human woman noticed as it entered her periphery, her eyes widening slightly. She took a step and reached out to obtain the floating jewelry, her last two droid fingers on an otherwise human hand almost grabbed it. The Entu amulet swerved away to continue to the apparently empowered guest.

"Where are his Jedi robes... a Sith?!" the Gran said

"Jedi or Sith, whatever you are that," the human pointed at the item, "is ours. Return it before something unfortunate happens."

-Dante-

Buroc stopped checking his pockets, "What." It took a moment for his brain to process, "The room is high class, it should have auto-lockss." However despite the statement he pressed the button anyway. The door chirped in a negative. A feeling of unease, bordering on fear tugged at the Trandoshian's face for a moment, but swiftly squashed it. "Do you know anything about getting around doors?"

"Go around doors!? Yes I know how to go around doors! " Dante said in a sarcastic tone, "it's called blowing up a hole in the darn wall, and sorry but I don't have my detonated on me today! "

"I'm a gunslinger, not a thief, I don't know much about locks. " Dante crossed his arms waiting for the Trandoshan, but seeing his disarray, he let them go, and with a sight added:

"Fine, let me have a look... Maybe someone tampered with it already. "

The card panel opened easily unveiling a mesh of circuitry and wires that looked like they had been partially stripped and rewired a few times. Thinking for a moment the gunman traced where previous connections had been made and recreated the previous work with a show of sparks. The door made a clicking noise and opened a few inches, but the card reader was toasty.

Gyn shook his head and grinned inside his hood before holding up his fingers as if he were counting off points, "Ok, first off... type-casting much? I move one small object across the room and all of a sudden I have to be a Jedi or something. Never mind the fact that magicians have been doing that trick for centuries, or that there are plenty of other groups out there that practice with the Force. Second, you and I both know that this isn't your's, as it belongs to either the owner of this suite or whoever HE stole it from. And finally, assuming you're right in your first assumption as to who I am, do you really think that the 'unfortunate something' is really going to be happening to me and not you?"

Dante lowered his voice to a whisper. Tempered, just what I thought, someone has visited you, or may still be inside for that matter.

Dante blessed his luck managing to open the lock, that really wasn't his specialty. Guns were howeverand his hand automatically rested on his weapon. He picked through the small opening the door was now making and signal Buroc to remain silent. Not seeing much, He pushed the door to slide leaving enough space for him to get in., attentive for a sound or visual clue.

An asteroid field came into view through the window with the backdrop of a larger, blasted, object. The human woman made a gesture towards the Gran and then the Weequey to do something to the 'magician'. However both took a subtle step back.

"Useless..." the woman slowly took a few steps towards Gyn, "I'm afraid you don't know whom you are dealing with. I am the Butcher of Teta, the Ghost of Kashyyyk, Sash Tei!" Tei grabs for the crystal.

As she made the attempt a sharp sense of danger erupts through Gyn's mind.

(Roll Dex or brawling to resist her grab)

The muffled words "Sash Tei" reached Dante's ears from one of the rooms near the kitchen area.

Buroc agitatedly flipped his tongue out after seeing the condition of the kitchen droid.

Relying on his danger sense and the Force to guide his movement, Gyn pivoted on his heel so that he was perpendicular to, and outside of the woman's attack and then slid past her as smoothly as if he was skating on ice. As he was doing this he used his one hand to slip the crystal into his pocket, and the other to deliver a swift chop to the back of the woman's neck with the intention of sending her sprawling to the deck. "Yeah, yeah... and I'm the kriffing Batman."
