Winds Of Salarvya : Dreams Of A Petal Throne - Chapter 2

Recommended Posts

<@Danielle: According to the SourceBook (S&G Book 1) - right around page 120 if you have access to it; Surgery is well advanced. Tourniquets are employed. Wounds are cauterized with hot irons. Bandages are sterilized in boiling water. Internal injuries are difficult to treat overall. This wound is primarily external, with some sub-dermal issues. Basically, I'd put the level of Tsolyani medicine on par with medicine at some point around the US Civil War, perhaps slightly more advanced theory ; though tools may be a little less advanced. A goodly amount of higher class rely more on the temple spells to heal then "medicine" ; though the SBook hints that some folks try not to become indebted to the temples and would seek medical help outside of spells when feasible. If anyone differs on this analysis of Tsolyani medicine, feel free to correct me.>

@Kamar & Osure:

Kamar reaches the room where Osure has started to operate lightly upon the Lady Jaluda. As she cleans the wound before excavating surrouding it, she catches a glimpse of her gratified guardian, as he turns the corner. Kamar is holding the "specimen" in hand; demonic lemur blood dripping slowly upon the recently re-cleaned room. Well (she thinks) there goes my clean operating room. Osure is well underway with the surgery to fix Jaluda's leg, therefore she only makes a passing glance over the demon lemur to see if anything can be done to stop the wound's effects prior to proceeding. She makes a very quick stitch of the immediate wound area (with a new clean needle and thread), which only partially awakens the demonic beast; a low guttural gurgle unleashes from the beast's leathery lips. This causes Osure and Kamar to look with trepidation as the eyes were seen to glow once again while open. An odd scene ensues. Osure quickly working on both the Lady and Lemur, one to save a leg, one to save a demon monkey's slipping life.

@Ur Athal:

Ur Athal's downward swing is parried lightly by the nearest bowman, using a short sword the enemy was able to unsheathe in time. Ur's slice did hit it's target none-the-less. The boundless power of the hulking N'luss, hammered through the enemy's weak parry, causing flesh to part and bring forth ruby blood. The nearest enemy is now staggering, and seeks the nearby roof's edge to hold himself steady for another blow. The other enemy archer, is able to quickly string another arrow, and do a quick release towards Ur Athal. The arrow seeks the N'luss' leg, piercing his left upper thigh. The pain is immediate but not immobilizing.

@Hanumal:

Hanumal is able to guide the cart closer to the Salarvyani guard patrol (in previous posts, seen turning the corner and approaching the immediate area of the market fight scene). They quickly note the arrows stuck in the side of the chlen cart, and the slightly wounded Hanumal is immediately questioned regarding the scene. "What is going on here?" the largest of the 4 guards begs. Hanumal glances off towards the Nosalas, gauging his distance to the port's precipice; escape in mind. As he looks that way, the Commander of the expedition is seen leading two Azure legionnaires towards his position.

[if you all can post before this evening, I'll post again late tonight to keep things moving here.]

Kamar will attempt to make himself useful, possibly by restraining the "patient" and helping to arrange things for the lady and the healer. He will certainly help to boil bandages and thread, order servants to fetch necessary supplies, and generally get underfoot.

Hanumal looks back behind the cart. "Bandits have attacked us on the way back from a feast as honored guests at a noble clanhouse! They must have mistaken us for our betters!" He waits a moment, reins ready to spur the Chlen forward at a moment's notice. He calls out to the approaching Azure Legion men, "Bring healers at once! The Ahoggya and the Pe Choi! The old man has been wounded!"

@Ur Athal - The remaining archer hears the tumult below; as Hanumal bellows to the approaching Commander,Legionnaires and Salarvyani night watch. The enemy pulls a face cloth up over his nose, hiding his face almost entirely. Quickly, he turns and bolts in a zagging pattern towards the rear edge of the ware house. Ur Athal runs towards the enemy, taking one last slice towards him , barely scuffing the back of the enemy's right boot. A close call, but the enemy has now made it over the edge of the warehouse wall, a loud noise is heard as the archer crashes into boxes and wares below. Ur Athal eyes his friend Hanumal in the Market area. Ur Athal makes his way back to his compatriot to help smooth the situation over.

@Kamar and Osure -

The operation on the Lady Jaluda's wound looks to have gone well. The newly cleaned area appears much healthier then the mashed mess of blood and pus it once was. The Lady again gives her warm thanks as she slowly comes to from the shock of the work. The Princess to be sees Osure and Kamar out, thanking them endlessly. She clicks her fingers quickly, and an attendent brings forth a small bag of Tsolyani coins. "A token of our gratitude, the glutonous temples charge much more for magical aid! Please accept it. Also, my personal guard shall escort you both back to the ship." Additional pleasentries, bows, and salutations are emoted, then the night air finally whisp Kamar and Osure back to the Nosalas.

@Hanumal -

The Salarvyani gaurds look puzzled. "But, why are these two men bound and wounded?" To which is a response from the approaching Commander, "I can explain that. A word if you will?" The gaurds are taken aside. You see the Commander hand them a small piece of parchment. They look further puzzled after reading it. The leader of the gaurds looks quickly over to the remaining 3, and they quickly salute the Commander, leaving the area quickly towards the central part of the town. "Ahah! Probably not the first time I will have to bail this crew out of the funs found on shore! Won't be the last likely either. Quickly, let us make our way to the Nosalas. I have asked for a local to help us question this sorcerer". Hanumal and Ur Athal look at each other with exhaustive relief as the large N'luss joins their little party.

A long night for all.... Of many to come...Many questions remain UN-answered, but the Nosalas is a welcome, nay beautiful sight to see.

Stay tuned for Chapter 3 start. Please do not reply to this thread. It will be locked soon. I would ask for the night to start that thread as I'm busy at work today. They actually want me to work or something? Weird...
