The great Saar stood at the top of the hill surveying the tribe of Jakatts below him. The sound of joyful laughter, mournful wails, angry shouts and passionate lovemaking filled the air as the worshipers of the Optants 'led' the faithful of Keta Kalles in worship of Lanala. Baruk Kaah smiled as he felt the power of his darkness device growing soon the Maelstrom bridge to the rich world promised by the Gaunt man would be complete, soon would the invasion begin. With this great sacrifice to Lanala he would be rewarded with the love that he has craved for so long.

Baruk Kaah strode impatiently at the edge of the Jakatt camp, eager to unleash the army before him on the ripe new world. The great Saar broke into a run passing great mounds of plucked hrockt shoots blessed by Lanala to form spears to test the inhabitants of the new world. He smiled as he picked up a blossom spear from one of the slightly smaller mounds and twirled it effortlessly around in a joyous dance.

His tour took him away from the main tribe and passed the secluded gotak camp, where the stelae and pain sacks had been produced to issue to the restans. Yet furher away he forced himself to approach the area where army of gospog, harvested on another world had been hidden. Many of the faithful could no see the need for these perverted creatures, but Baruk Kaah accepted their travesty as a small price to pay to ensure that Lanala's Love could be carried to other people.

Returning back towards the main camp the great Saar revelled in the pain in his limbs from running at such a pace for so long, pushing through the pain he eventually came to large area set aside of the great beasts that had been captured and trained for the invasion. The common Tra mount had been supplimented by flying Lakten and Langatok and even a powerful Ugresk awaited under the sway of a Benthe. The Benthe had proved invaluable in recent invasions and as the great Saar saw the beasts they had gathered he knew it would be the case again. Armoured leviathans such as the Borr Aka's, Kylots and Udatok's stood ready to carry the faithful. Whilst viscious predators like Carnol's, Baragons and Laknitosks were ready to be unleashed.

He felt some pity for the chained beast's, their emotions held in check, but knew they they would have more than ample opportunity in the coming days to gorge themselves.

Slough – England

It was another hot day in the home-counties, contradicting the sceptics who feared that the few scorching days in May meant the summer would be another washout like last year. In typical British manner those same sceptics complained about the heat as budget air-con units in offices failed to cope. As usual scores of grumpy suited men start griping about inequality in office dress codes that allow women to wear comfortable. With the effects of the recession biting, sales staff desperate to make headway on their quotas in the recession make phone call after phone call. With the threat of redundancy casting its ever present shadow, office politics and water-cooler gossip are acting in overdrive.

The sudden rainstorm came out of nowhere. With lightning flashing in the clouds a torrential deluge of water descended from the heavens, striking with such force that car alarms sounded throughout the town. Those caught outside rushed undercover and stared out of windows at the unexpected downpour. As the rain continued and people grimly remembered the flash floods that had hit parts of the country the year before and wondered what havoc we had wrought on our environment. For almost half an hour the storm continued unabated and most of the people lost interest.

Then as abruptly as the storm had started the skies cleared and the sun beat down even stronger than before, people looked out of their windows and stared in amazement at the giant beanstalk of intertwined vines that had appeared in the place of the recently built supermarket. The plant seems to stand 50 foot wide and stretched upwards as far as the eye could see.

Pelaric Kwajar spurred his mount forward revelling in the rush of wind against his scales as the Lakten swooped towards the human below. The pathetic creature stared dumbfounded for precious seconds before turning to run. The Lakten’s claws grasped the shoulders of the man and lifted him clear of the floor. The Lakten climbed higher in a tight spiral before dropping its victim. Pelaric smiled in the knowledge that the pink skin would finally learn to truly love his life, if only for a moment. Pelaric turned his attention back to the scene below watching with pride as the great tribe surged forward, savaging any of the natives that tried to resist.

The humans were no challenge; their race had grown weak in their reliance of dead things. Their world had fallen apart around them as their metal mounts ground to a halt and their captured sun’s spluttered and died. They fell into panic and disarray, shouting pointlessly into dead sounding hounds awaiting replies that would never come. Pelaric spied a woman running from a band of sprinting Eidenos screaming in terror. Drawing on the great emotions of the faithful he called on Lanala to strip the woman of her sight, to heighten her fear and to allow her to fully concentrate on the hrockt spears as they plunged into her body.

He drew the Lakten skyward again and flew ahead of a herd Borr Akkar as they trudged towards the Castle in the distance.

(In case I can't recover my original post, here is a quick unpolished version)

Paisly - Scotland

Tara McDonald had ignored the health scares in the media for over 20yrs until someone she knew had died as a result of them. Swine Flu it seems was real. Rationally she knew it was still only one death, but somehow it was impossible to ignore. After reporting the case the media seemed to go suddenly silent on the matter, which is never a good sign. Then the strange stories from England starting flooding in along with, well refugees. They talked of dinosaurs and savage crocodile men ravaging the land. Some said that the crocodile men had strange powers of healing and with a simple touch of the claw could mend great wounds. Tara would have dismissed these stories as any other bunk, but her son badly ill and the doctors and hospitals were overcrowded and could not see her.....

Tadcaster - England

Major Wallis has brought the 6th Division out of York shortly after the reports of the invaders had come in. He brought his binocoulars up and looked towards Leeds but the raging storm clouds, thick mist and dense foliage made it impossible to make anything useful out. He had requested satellite surveillance from HQ but nothing had come back, and he feared the strange invaders could somehow stop that too. After initial reports from refugees he had sent experienced soldiers in to scout the region. Only a handful returned and he was horrified and bewildered by their reports. Guns and communications seemed to fail for no reason. Squad tactics and discipline failed inexplicably. Major Wallis did not know what do, all of his years of training at the best military schools in the world and his extensive field experience seemed useless against these aliens. The storm clouds cleared briefly and he saw a horde of the lizard men dancing wildly in some tribal ritual. He called HQ for orders wondering if his forces would be sent in to stop the creatures before they could complete their ritual and spread the ‘null zone’ even further.

Reading - England

The last ten days had been both the most eventful and bizarre in Mike’s life. On Monday he had just been another teenager waiting impatiently for the Summer holidays. When he woke on Tuesday morning he found himself on a bed of straw under the stars. He called for his parents and then found himself running through alien streets chased by a caveman! The whole town seemed to have strange with forests of trees appearing out of nowhere and buildings crumbling to dust. May days later he was still alive. Cut, bruised, exhausted and hungry but alive. More importantly he was still himself, and hadn’t transformed into some monster like many he had seen. He was however alone, having become separated from the group he had been travelling with and having got lost in the deep fog. He stumbled forward into a clearing and saw a fantastic flower in a clearing. From his experiences over the last few days he knew he should keep clear of any of the ‘new’ stuff, but somehow found himself irresistibly drawn towards it. As he came closer and smelt the sweet pollen he was filled with an overpowering sense of joy and ran forward to touch the flower. The sensation was electrifying as jolts of pure pleasure washed over him. Enthralled by the plant Mike lost all sense of self hypnotised somehow by the plants beauty. He did not notice the storm clouds pass overhead, or the small lizards that skittered across the floor near him. He did not notice the other people surrounding the plant (and they did not notice him). He certainly did not notice the Stalenger watching in interest from a nearby tree.

Pelaric Kwajar landed his mount next to his tribe pleased at the progress they had made. The natives had yet to put up any significant resistance to his rapid advance. As the initial shock of the invasion passed he knew that any survivors still clinging to the native reality would be hard to budge.

Sensing the impetus of the tribes slowing as they sought to settle on the new lands adn enjoy the sensations of the word, he sent messages to the Optants of each tribe urging them to continue their progress and fully secure the lands known as Britain.

In Europe he knew the tunnel could not be used for muhc longer, and space was limited with the lands to the East held by the High Lord known as Plague. Before returning to his mount and leading his force further inland he sent a final messenger was sent back to the Maelstrom bridge with a simple message for the Great Saar, regretting that he would not be able to witness the new arrivals with his own eyes.

Calais - France

A cheer went up as the batterred remains of a French army put a new flag up at the barracks that they had set up at the old refugee camp at Sangatte. - Despite their numbers, and their strange powers the lizards lacked one major thing; organisation. The great horde of lizards passed straight through the tunnel and further into France without stopping to secure such a strategic asset. Waiting until the army had passed a unit of British S.A.S soldiers who had been on assignment dealing with a terrorist threat from Calais, led french forces into the tunnel to ambush any re-inforcements. After days of waiting in the dark, partially flooded tunnels, scouts reported the lizards moving en-masse through the tunnel. In the confines of the tunnell the lizards could not take full advantage of their numbers, and could not bring their beasts of war to bear. In contrast the S.A.S were in their element, and with their weapons continuing to fire they anchored the french lines. The battle had been bloody and hundreds were dead or dying but at as the smoke settled the day had been won.

Dover - England

The Eidenos tribesman sat on the strange stone floor staring so intently at the pictures and scratch marks on the dead tunnel that he dead not notice the shiny rock sliding across the floor towards him until it exploded. The S.A.S squad emerged from the tunnel moments after dropping all of the nearby lizards with deadly accurate three round bursts from their assualt rifles. The squad checked their weapons, whilst getting a bearing from the sun and set off towards London.

Takta Ker

The Great Saar climbed to the top of the great tree and surveyed his almost empty land.

The Gaunt man had promised limitless rewards from the lands known as Core Earth and never one to do things in half measures the Saar threw everything he has into the invasion. With the core earth natives putting up increasing resistance, the Saar ordered a final push. With Lanala's will the defenders would be crushed and whilst the rewards of the new land are being reaped Takta Ker could regrow.

Sacremento

The Jakkats of the silent Vyper hunting team waited unseen in the trees of Park Avenue. It had taken days of stealthy progress but finally they were in striking distance of their target. Shortly after the feeble earth sun rose over the horizon the street became with activity and they knew it was almost time.

The target left his home flanked by two black suited aides and moved towards his car. Talking urgently on his headset the large man’s long footsteps carried him quickly down the path.

The chance to strike had nearly passed when finally the Jackatts felt the power of Lanala wash over them as the invasion from the North gained momentum. The Eidenos warrior sprang down from the tree and charged towards his target drawing back his hrockt shoot and hurling it forward as the stalenger blessed it from the safety of the tree. Twisting aside at the last moment the intended target dodged the incoming missile only for it to strike solidly into one of his aides flinging him from his feet and dropping him to the floor. The target leapt into the car, regretting for once his refusal to hire a driver as he put the key in the ignition.

The remaining aide stood his ground and drew his pistol and professionally took aim at the charging lizardman. Just before he pulled the trigger however he was struck by a sudden blindness and his shot went wide. The Eidenos gave him no quarter and spilled the aides guts on the floor with a swipe of his talon. The Eidenos turned to his real target but the hydrogen powered hummer had already started moving. The Lizard gave chase but was unable to keep pace so abandoned the attack and returned to the woods to regroup.

The target breathed a sigh of relief as he rounded the corner, then ducked as he saw a winged demon diving on the car from above. The demon’s claws peeled back the entire front roof of the hummer and narrowly missed the targets head. The ravagon snarled in frustration and looped around for another attack as the sound of approaching police sirens grew closer. Steering with one hand the man reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a pistol. Bringing the gun to bear he smoothly brought the pistol up and unloaded two bullets directly into the demon’s chest before a powerful blow from the demon sent the gun spinning from his hand into the back of the hummer. The man’s hand was not empty for long however as it clamped a vicelike grip on the demon’s throat. Blinded with fury and pain the Ravagaon ignored the growing pressure on its neck and lashed out with its teeth and claws ripping the man’s shirt apart and leaving deep bloody gashes in his well muscled torso. Slowing the car to a stop the man took his left hand off the wheel and threw a mighty punch into the demon’s face. The stunned creature slumped down into the seat beneath him as the man stood up and added his other hand to his efforts to strange the creature. As the man stood up to put his whole body weight behind his thumbs something snapped in the demon’s neck and it slumped lifeless against the door.

A police cruiser and two motorbikes pulled up against the side of the mangled humvee and a young officer stepped out of the car to address the man.

“Governor, the lizards have broken through from the north. Our weapons are still working and we are killing them in the hundreds but there are just too many of them and we are having to fall back. I have orders from General Mason to take you HQ and update you fully on the situation.”

The Governor stepped out of the car, seemingly unfased by his injuries, nodded to the trooper and stepped towards the awaiting cruiser. Before getting in he paused to scan the horizon to the north, where smoke and explosions could already be seen. Striking a pose like some Holywood actor the man gestured to the north, punctuating each word with a sharp jab of his fist he vowed “I’ll be Back!”
