  1. *waves in* Not dead yet, just swamped with RL. Getting married, new puppy, promotion at work, I'm going to try to spend a bit more time here.
  2. Any thoughts on how much linking should be done... just the first mention of a term or link... or every instance?
  3. I've been cleaning up the ones that I have with Dreamweaver. You can see the results, as of today, on the live site. Beyond formatting, a lot of cross-linking terms is necessary as well. Pointing things back to their references and that sort. You can just drill down on the Fantasy side of things. As of right now, this is the area that I've concentrated on. As we move forward with the other 2 and the Master SRD, I'll either create a fourth column or start merging columns.
  4. I think the answer is 'yes.' My personal thought is to do both. Since we will need to capture much of the data from the various books, we might as well do the web formatting for them and get them ready. Once the data is distilled, or even as we are capturing it from the 3 genre books we can begin forming a larger 'core' book.
  5. Google Doc Links... Sorry, I forgot to hang these earlier this weekend. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IIhjShCMGiBL8dC-1FxzhqSpxdeVkriyamwze6B90WM/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AxJmanTxMqNwxsi54ZwdeGOZ34lx8bYe-CA8vy7x0Mg/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X07dvLg8s77IP8CbxZogjzqY-PvFLgIG-HTnaq-5epo/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1R4qYcNj_KMU6WvK-1B9P7c23D7-7MZEoUuKdUUDlIlM/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LatWhYv27Fvjl4_k5zQjNcEVmaPPjkvjl_GZEyg-wLU/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1essccM9Bu3ugujJpCHRRGDHoi2h8_TDZGwbjJeHz1UU/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/19NDljnHD7NPyFPRWPLePDg4mL8mkR9pemYt3RG0wjcY/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-um79D9mdtiu0Y38HBOQNy4cr1V4Vif4jT3JPox9kP4/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/10AoMGOzDoSGEx5pvyXeaXJtKh5vBe7ouKX59ijjzSYs/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TndmzfxzqZBy9D38j0MH5FzU_MscWxvtdkZHzHIUnBY/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wL8X1cCezLi7QcZgDqGj4SvVirYgtqiHgtxA89Rw754/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xQQdAPQQD9y00dAVNWEmqE90osfMCcnij8143fzp_Ho/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DHsZH6HY9CeL3GS2qBSHFDcl4Zwd9NdAL-8n7XqRyzY/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eHfz58d_bXDW6lYc6yoITw-uLypRfZ6vJv4oyrAZO5A/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1u75OyQXQsYp0CenGvI7Axq3fRkM8OJAKlLfA7gdscqg/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Wqq4yXC7Ifr9wljDoOF0lLtDp7nPcnkjphVbJOepxRw/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kjfrv7c-yUCXr-Hp7GgjUsIBUObufnPfLd7-vHe1y20/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1N9mHKJCvClw_kvW56Td6t2MBeEkUioB8zK3PzOMm024/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J2tYIj7A5rNAXZm0s7Q_KNl5sq7EGr48RdlnOwR_sqw/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TypHboFHL7cZLJeE3k6YqFHOZpmjKVuCV_dSbtHnycg/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/174ENbSSK8bIT4cVxlkisaCKXzAZtDG_3PFFvUCF4-fU/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uLuyZyI-rpqW-Zh--D3RgEc7hiJF6hMS7Vlp48vXdeQ/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/11_AvmwZXgetZJss9-a8_cTvepk_UHLephjlEuZYY0Ww/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IT_UTP3-dY4lzh1D5EiuNNM2MwabIlkp689kEhRH4Yw/edit?hl=en_US https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_K9tPVIWfpRddqVJ2iHgcyKZmlyixrwqkJDehoP8oDw/edit?hl=en_US Currently they are set up for public editing. 6. It's all good! I had time at the tail end of last week. The chapters are just hanging there as a reference while I start structuring things. I will have 3 or 4 columns... one for each genre, plus core. I think one of the goals in the project is to distill the rules down to a single set and then put in the 'exceptions' afterwards. Since I already had broken the Fantasy materials down to .rtf, I figured I would start there. If someone else can do the same with Adventure and Space, that would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I started hanging the framework on http://www.d6srd.org. Thoughts, opinions, feelings, and the like?
  8. I literally slopped this together to get a feel for the formatting of text and the like(naturally the background will change, once we figure out something for it: Open D6 SRD Test Page Please comment and critique.
  9. I like the format from d20srd.org... it works really well at presenting a single set of rules at. The real question is how do we want present the D6 SRD, as a combination of 4 systems (D6 Master, D6 Adventure, D6 Fantasy, D6 Space) or as a single set of rules... where all the rules are combined.
  10. Well, since I've taken to volunteering people, I suppose I might as well toss my lot in. I honestly think that initially we should concentrate on getting the 'normal' set of rules defined as they are slightly different system to system. Since there are a few different systems this might take a bit of time. I agree with you absolutely on this. Basically, have the Meta SRD become like an 'OpenD6 Bible' document. I agree with you about keeping the information as generic as possible. Honestly, a compiled list of the various quirks, advantages, and the like would be nice. This can be something that we add in later. I'm a bit unsure of not including 'core' attributes. But, I can see some logic to not doing it. That means I'm going to actually have to read the books... phewy!
  11. Well, you've been more active in the community then me... so there goes that idea. Grimace is a moderator and he posted to this thread... does that mean we can volunteer him? Since we will be using Infinite Possibilities' site, maybe he would be a good coordinator. My vote is we just start with a quick brainstorm to figure out what we want to do, what we need to do to get it completed, and then we ask for volunteers. We can move the discussion over to the 'Projects' section and divvy up the work. We can use something fairly simple, like Google docs for it.
  12. There is if you do open in New Window with the link. I'll rummage around in my notes and see if I can remember or find the way to do it.
  13. Well, I guess since I'm volunteering other people... I should be in on this. Another neat idea is the Ptolus books by Monte Cook. The actual books themselves are crossreferenced, and there are sidebars pretty much on every page. It wouldn't take much to build a website/document that does something similar.
  14. Absolutely... well, looking at our join dates and number of posts... I would imagine that you are the 'someone else with more respect and time in the OD6 community.' LOL If you need a hand, gimme a shout.
