Hey guys, well I am basically new to D6. A long time ago I played a little bit of D6 fantasy and I really enjoyed the system but then my GM got enthralled with White Wolf and those are the role playing games I basically grew up on.

Anyway, for years now I have always wanted to build and run my own semi-original type of campaign and I have tried out many different systems. Must of them took to much work to convert into something "generic" so to speak and then there was my nightmare with GURPS, what a nightmare that was. So, after some late night searching at www.nobleknight.com and being in contact with some people for WEG via e-mail I decided that D6 was my little undiscovered gem in the RPG universe and also probably my saving grace.

So, I have ordered the following...(which should be in at the end of the week)

> D6 Core Set (which includes D6 Fantasy, Adventure, Space, Bloodshadows, and the GM screen)

> D6 System book (from my understanding has a bunch of variant rules involving the D6 system)

> Hercules/Xena Box Set (For the D6 Legend stuff)

> 50 16mm D6's

As for the campaign I have wanted to design, well I have been stuck between two. The first one would be a Zombie Survival type of setting with more of a Resident Evil Feel then a Dawn of the Dead feel.

The second would be basically taking Judge Dredd and throwing it up in space via a Firefly type of setting.

I am wondering if anyone has already done something like this before? Any thoughts, ideas?

Anyway, being a child of the World of Darkness and growing up on probability based systems has anyone done a conversion sheet to make it easy to use D6 Legend instead of the D6 Classic in any setting?

Wow! Welcome to the board, Shenron! You just jumped right into D6 head first! I'm sorry I don't have an specific advice for the campaign options you are thinking of, but I know I personally would be more interested in playing the Judge Dredd/Firefly over the zombie one. And Lee Torres will probably comment on your D6 Legend question.

But please let us know what you think when you get all your D6 stuff, and of course we are here if you have any questions. I think you'll enjoy the D6 system.

I've got a post on that on the boards here (http://www.wegfanforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225) (or you can find it here (http://web.archive.org/web/20011108114406/www.westendgames.com/html/plyd6-l.html) in the internet archives), which should get you started - the full conversion, also on the old WEG site in the internet archives, can be found here (http://web.archive.org/web/20011108184922/www.westendgames.com/html/d6c2l.html).

Welcome to the boards, and to the D6 System - I love to see someone jumping in with both feet; I hope you enjoy your purchases (and as a D6 fanatic since 1987, I suspect you will)! :D

Welcome to D6! The Judge Dread Via Firefly setting is your most original. I think everybody's done a little undead bashing in D6 at one point or another. :) I did something sort of similar once. The characters were all outlaws trying to escape from the Galactic Emperium, think evil empire meets Templar Knights, and raced from object to object (planet, asteroid, etc.) to attempt escape for a crime they didn't commit (framed by a high ranking official for attempted assassination of the god-child [emperor-king]).

Eventually they allied themselves with a religious underground who practiced biogenics (all the monks where clones for flavor) and were given sanctuary till they could prove their innocence. Unfortunately it didn't last more than five sessions but it was fun while it lasted.

I hope that helped you with a few ideas.

wow welcome to the forums! You are feeling the excitement that I felt when I first learned WEG was alive and kicking. there is a ton of website that host various games made with the D6 rules, I am sure someone here can drop you the link.

I think all of the support I am getting here is awesome!

Anyway, after much thought I decided to go with the Judge Dredd/Firefly setting/style. Zombie bashing is fun, they make great fodder for my gold plated Desert but eh, the have been shot to death, haha no pun intended.

Well, so far I have been working in a time line type of history. The dates are not cannon as well was the events. I started with the whole nuclear war thing and I think I am only up too the rise of the Judges. I am using some real big events from the comics and others I am just kind of making it up as I go. So far my time line hasn't got far enough for the space part but it is getting there. I will also do brief write-ups on the Judges themselves, the Psions, Mutants, and a few other things. I am not going to hammer out the setting to well because in space, things change from planet to planet and universe to universe.

I am calling the game Judge Alliance of Worlds or J.A.W. for short. I think it would be awesome to have some smugglers thinking they are getting away and notice on their scanners a Judge cruise ship and say "Oh no, its JAWs, lets get the hell out of here." I know kind of corny but it cracks me up.

As I mentioned before I am going to have psionics which from my understanding is described in the D6 Adventure book. I will also have mutants so has anyone done rules for mutations and the like? Of course there will be aliens and I am thinking of giving them Force powers but describing it and treating as kind of alien magic? I do not have the Star Wars book so maybe Whill could help me out on this?

Thanks again for all of the support. :)

I believe if you check that link, and you go to I think its D6 Universe, it has a list of D6 Star wars stuff, some of which you will find the force powers and how they work. I have the first ed of WEG Star wars only here on table.... I think I have the SW 2e Revised on PDF somewhere if you want it?

Hopefully you project JAWS will be a success and you don't bite off more than you can chew. :p

Good Luck!

Check this site - http://krapz.free.fr/ - click the link for "Fanbooks" and down toward the bottom of the list you'll find the Force Powers .pdf by Cheshire and Thiago "Gry Sarth" Aranha.

Check out the other Fanbooks while you're there - they're excellent!

Well due to many complications, I have decided to due a strictly Judge Dredd D6.

Anyway, any input would be awesome.

Judge Dredd D6 sounds good! I've thought about trying to do something like this but have never started it. It made the list of things I wanted to do with D6. So I'm interested to see what you come up with for it and will try to provide input on some things if you need it.

As far as suggestions on it, I guess that all depends on what kinds of suggestions you're looking for? Do you have a groundwork that you want to have?

Judge Dredd is very cool. I've got a couple of the supplements they put out a few years ago for the D20 system. They had some solid background info in those.

Ya, I have always Dug the whole setting of Judge Dredd. I am seriously thinking about picking up the d20 core book and the Justice System guide book that came out with it just for background information and the like.

So far I have written up an obscene time line of important events I could remember and some of them I kinda fudged. I have also done places of interest describing the different Mega Cities and the like. I have yet to receive my D6 books so I can't really do any of the mechanics part of it. I am about to add character "packages". Which would be similar to templates but only a handful of dice placement is taken away from the player at character creation, so the player can still feel like he is customizing his character.

I have not decided how I am going to do character creation yet. I don't even know what the standard character creation system is at the moment. What I have seen I am thinking about using the system from Godsend Agenda. Which is basically players get 100 build points. (I think that would be about right for a Judge Dredd Setting). Attributes are 4 points for 1D, skills are bought for 1 point for 1D, and two skill specialization dice equal one build point.

After reading the Super Troopers write up which is badass by the way, I think I might go characters get X amount of Dice to split between attributes, X amount for skills, and some wild dice to use for starting mutations/psionics. I just down know how many dice I should give at character creation, any idea?

Any help offered would be great. I will PM anyone who has a need to help contribute to this project.

I am wondering if anyone has a .pdf version of D6 Adventure. I am wondering if there is anyway that yo could copy and paste and send me the skills and abilities plus the psionics stuff so I do not have to hand type it all, I am a really crappy typist.

Anyway, just PM me.
