Hi everyone,

I am curious to find out what everyone is playing and what everyone is running.

I am running:

Cyberpunk 2020

All Flesh Must be Eaten

I am playing:

Final Destination: Dead in the Water (Unisystem)

Shadowrun 4e

On Tuesdays I'm running a TORG 1.5 (R&E) game.

House rules:
-- Long Range Contradictions: Any effect that does not happen through direct physical contact will result in a LRC. So if you shoot a laser, slug thrower, or arrow in the LL, you'll make a LRC. This differs from the book, we like this better, it keeps reality very important and high power under some control. Our opinion.

-- Skill Based Combat: Jasyn came up with a way to solve the GJN that compensatied for the SZ/MB methods shortcomings. It plays VERY well, but any skill that is used, needs to be considered a Macro skill. Fire Combat, Energy Weapons, Melee Weapons...all of them. We've seen it first hand. Damn sword woman.

-- there is another, but I forget..it is hard to remember some of these.

The rest of the rules work very well.

I don't have time for other games...I've run TORG at Conventions, and have had 10 years total of Shatterzone campaigns (3 different groups, but the total time was 10 years). That is about it right now.

Right now I'm not playing anything, but I'm running a HARP Cyradon campaign. Been at this one a few months, ran a Star Wars game previously for about two years, splitting duties with one of my current players.

Oh, and if anyone asks, to me, there is only WEG Star Wars. As with the special editions and the prequels, I don't have any use for D20 Star Wars in any iteration.

I am curious to find out what everyone is playing and what everyone is running.
Nothing and nothing. :(

I was briefly playing in a DC Heroes game back in May, but then the semester ended and three-quarters of the group either graduated, flunked out or otherwise left for the summer so the GM decided not to continue the game. Last time I talked to him he's thinking of trying to run something else during the fall semester if he can find enough new players, so maybe I'll be playing something again in a few months. Or I may try to run something, but I'll be in the same boat of having to find new players.

For the first time in a couple 3-4 years, I'm playing games. And for the first time in a VERY long time, I'm not running the games I'm in...I'm actually a player.

I've been playing Legend of the Five Rings (non-d20 edition)

and just recently I started playing in a new group some Star Wars...D6 version!

I am Gming DnD 4e and Star Wars D20. I am working on converting the [URL="http://www.genreconnections.com/shop/index.php?p=product&id=96&parent=51[/URL] game I wrote for Final Sword into D6 Legends, and would like to run that in the near future.

Last four things my group's been playing:

Winter 2006/Summer 2007: (running) D6 Legend homebrewed Pulp using setting elements of Exile Games Hollow Earth Expedition (we would have used Ubiquity but it was a sequel to an earlier D6 Legend Pulp campaign, and although the conversions would have been pretty trivial, I opted not to!)

Fall/Winter 2007: (playing & running) Mongoose - Traveller (playtesting)

Spring 2008: (running) Cubicle 7 - Doctor Who (playtesting)

Now: (playing & running) Mongoose - Traveller (now working on our very own Traveller Universe...)

I'm not currently playing in anything (I was in an AD&D 2e game with my wife, but we dropped out a week or so ago due to player conflicts).

I'm currently running a Sunday campaign for my regular players (running WEG's Fires of Amatsumara, but using the EABA system), and a Tuesday night game for my wife (which is a cyberpunk style setting). I'm also running a PbEM game - Evernight, using Savage Worlds (and if anyone is interested in playing, drop me a line as I have a couple of openings).

I also manage to convince my regular players to do the occasional once-off to playtest things (the latest was my adventure contribution -Obliviscence (http://www.polgarusgames.com/downloads/Obliviscence_v1.pdf) - that I wrote for WoAdWriMo. The playtest ended up taking two Friday nights to complete, and again used the EABA rules).

Cheers,
Jason

I'm currently running a Savage Worlds game in the Blackmoor Setting. I'm playing in a nWoD Vampire: Requiem of Rome campaign.

We also have a few very sporadic campaigns using MasterBook and the occasional one-shots with the HeroWars system.

There's been no gaming at all during the summer though, but I think things will pick up in a few weeks. I am planning a few mini-campaigns for the fall too:

* One Savage World of Solomon Kane game. (Possibly just a one-shot)
* One In Nomine/Gangs of New York game (Just something Ive been thinking about these last few days)

You should try to get a forum game coming so that you can get some gaming in.

PBP games can be fun, or you can play a game via the chatroom

Sounds like a good idea.

I am switching jobs soon and I do a lot of website/programming stuff in my spare time. So i will check out some and see if I find the time for any of them.

Man, I miss my days of being young with carefree days with no responsibility.

Every second monday I GM Torg, the other Mondays I am a player in Perry Rhodan (Midgard system). I am about to start an Earthdawn campaign as GM someday soon. And I try to run Torg on every Con in 100 km vicinity (next one is RatCon in Dortmund, Germany 22.8. - 24.8.). There are a lot of other games I played and GMed the last 20+ years (esp. Shadowrun, Shatterzone, Bloodshadows, Talislanta, Star Wars, Ars Magica, Deadlands, Stargate...)

House rules: there is only one I use right now (though there may be others we used so long that I think of them as being official): for any played card or Poss the player has to come up with a in-Game roleplay-explanation how he did it.

I'm not currently playing or running any games. The last campaign I played was D&D 3.5 (Eberron), because that's what my friends wanted to play at the time.

On the GM side, I've been developing my Star Wars D6, further revised and expanded version of the game at the same time as my smugglers-to-heroes campaign that takes place in the 2 years leading up to A New Hope.

If I play any games before my game is ready to run, then it would probably only be if I could get in on someone else's Star Wars D6 game.

Yep. In high school I used to play every day at lunch and on the weekends.

Had a snow day? I would go over to my friends and game and stay warm (we would of course take breaks to play in the snow).

Those were the days.

Much as I generally dislike having moved to a city, I have to admit that I get a lot more gaming done these days :D

I'm in the fortunate position of having to actually turn down games. Two a week is great, but I was in more than that at one point and inevitably something had to go. Currently my group plays on Monday and Thursday, the resulting mayhem being recorded for an Internet "actual play" site. Monday is usually a slightly larger group of players and generally a fairly mainstream RPG; Thursday tends to be fewer of us playing something slightly less common.

In the next week we should be completing the first segment of an AD&D campaign before handing over to a new GM - myself, most likely - for the next few sessions, along with a cyberpunk game using the Sorcerer rules. Once Sorcerer concludes the next one on the list is Hollow Earth Expedition, which I'm especially looking forward to as I'll actually be playing, rather than running, a pulp game for once.

We've recently played Empire of the Petal Throne, Traveller and Call of Cthulhu. There are several things on the waiting list, D6 included (I've long fancied running a few sessions of Bloodshadows).

Right now my gaming has changed but it is still busy. Right now I am in the process of getting a local group together.

Gaming I am doing now:

Running:

All Flesh Must Be Eaten: Hell In Cradle Bay (I have 3 people on the waiting list and I may start a second game for the overflow)- In OpenRPG

Serenity: Beyond the Black- In OpenRPG

Playing:

Final Destination- Dead in the Water- Via Play by Post

All Flesh Must Be Eaten- Ground Zero (Via OpenRPG but the game is on hold).

I imagine that we my local group finally gets together that the online games will not be replaced and I will narrow down my gaming to only once a week (to prevent burnout and to give me time to do other things).

I've been playing with a group in Cologne for three years. This is about 60 km away. 1 hour by slow train, 1/2 hour by fast train. With a reduction card it was only 3,75 ? for one way. But they changed the rules for that reduction card and now it would cost about 20 ?. So I can't afford it anymore. Still I have a ticket that allows to take trains to D?sseldorf and the Ruhr-Region after 19:00 without additional cost. So I still have the option to find gamers in a region with about 20 million people.

That was my second option, but due to the degree of new rules to cover the Jedi powers etc, I thought it best to leave until later, a freighter crew is much easier on everyone and the fastest to get in to play,

Well the original idea was for the crew to work freelance for certain Corporations out on the rim, when they need to transport a person, data, or hardware to other systems in the area that are plagued with pirates and smugglers (who sometimes take part in pirating)

You would have been pirates and smugglers who have gone (er, semi?) straight, and now act as counter pirate vip delivery service,

Yeah, I'm only aware of two groups in my area (5th largest city in the US). It's possible there are others given that HERO books do sell at my FLGS. But I don't see any ads for people looking to add to their HERO group. I think there are at least 5 Shadowrun groups in this same city that all shop at my FLGS. The vast majority (probably >70%) are D&D (AD&D, 3rd/3.5 or 4th) with the next largest being nWoD groups.

D6 sells (1 book every 3 - 6 months I think), but even HERO outsells it on the shelves.

HERO is OK, but it is very time consuming to create, let alone vet characters. Far too many of our fights have either the PCs just getting stomped all over or just rolling over the NPCs like they weren't there with the difference being just a point or two in their defenses seeming to make the biggest change.

I own Fantasy Hero, Horror Hero, Ninja Hero and the generic Hero System book as well as Champions in 3-D.
Love the books but the system needs a computer program to make characters.
Sort of GURPS with added unnecessary complexity.
But they are fun to look through, though.

Champions/HERO predates GURPS...
It still can be GURPS with added unnecessary complexity.

I was gifted with a copy that I have yet to open.
Along with about 6 other RPG books from awhile ago now.
A friend out of the country and left me his collection.

Vets after the civil war wander the verse trouble shooting for hire

Love Cyberpunk 2020. I have the PDF of the core book which is a bummer to try to run a game with.

If I could pick up the corebook in print I would be happy. I am going to keep looking around.
