Does anyone have a copy of the Septimus Quickstart rules? I looked at them awhile ago and I would love to look them over again.

Thanks. I am reading through it and it looks really good. It would be nice if Eric gets things strightened out if WEG could still publish Septimus.

Eric is only half the equation. Bill is the other. I think Bill has doubts now about releasing it as a RPG. Haven't heard a peep from him in weeks now. One could say he is hard at work on Septimus and its conversion to a new system, but they would be only guessing. I personally think he is going only to release it as books now.

I thought that was pretty interesting, thanks for linking it

Kalzazz, you weren't on the band wagon when that first got released?
I am so disappointed at its failure. This game was the most anxious I've ever been over a game. It all came crumbling down so fast. I must have re-read the quickstart dozens of times. (I read through it while heading to work on the train) I had/have some many things I wanted to do with this storyline.
Com-on BILL, throw us a bone on it state ! :D

Im generally not very interested in setting type books, so I figured it was something I might get sooner or later if I got it
Critter books I like

Magman, well aware of that. Eric is currently in the same game group I am in and is running the game we are playing.
Here is a cool little story. So I was over at Erics and we were standing in his office talking about Septimus, the group, the game we would be playing, etc when Eric and I talk about Septimus.
Eric puts a dusty black 3 ring binder in front of me and before my eyes is the (with corrections and all) the full manuscript of Septimus.
While I only got to skim through the book (because the rest of the people showed up and we started playing) I can tell you that Bill did a great job from what little I saw of the manuscript.

Ah that hurt so much. Not sure if it was from jealously that you saw it or the unknown excitement that it one day might get released.
*** if that binder happened to get scanned and leaked onto the net some how.... Just kidding ****

Yeah that wouldnt happen. Not to mention you wouldn't want to scan that copy anyway. It was hard to read because it has all of the marking for corrections, etc and all it was was text from a word processer like work.
There is a lot of good information there.

It seems like it will be religated to the same fate and the Rogue Squadron sourcebook, except not completely lost as it was printed in hard copy. Ironically, the same Septimus manuscript was lost in the electronic format when I had a hard drive go belly-up earlier this year.

I would gladly take on the project of re-typing it back to a PDF format for you? ;)
Curiously, I would think that Bill would have taken all the copies and source notes with him. I do not want you getting into any trouble that it was mentioned you own a copy of his unpublished work?

Curious about your Hard Drive. Did you end up reformatting it, or is it still in the current state of being disabled?
You can retrieve information off it even though it is not bootable or even if directories can not be seen.

Yes, it was reformatted, and then ultimately discarded when I upgraded to a larger drive.

I'm sure, but that will be unneccesary, as you know. ;)

He's never asked for the manuscript back and while it could be destroyed, I lost over $1000 on editing that manuscript (not to mention several thousands on art) so for now it remains a souvenir of many financial losses. Of course, I've not legal right to duplicate the manuscript and would never dream of doing that anyway.

Feh to legal rules and regulations. They always seem to get in the way. LOL
I am just teasing about copying the manuscript. As much as I would love to have it or have Septimus get Released, I ama realist who plays nice with laws and such.
Where do you live again, and the back door key to your house is under what rock?

Now I am sorry I mentioned it. Sorry Eric.
