I would like to hear people's thoughts on Torg 1.5. Does it fix many problems found in the original additon.

Any problems that it adds to the system?

Thank You

Bump.

No one has any thoughts/feelings on Torg 1.5?

That's strange since Eric has said that it has almost sold out. I would have figured someone would have thoughts on it.

Not much to say about it. It does what it is meant to do, but it was meant to do too little. Kansas Jim has done a tremendous job in collecting every rule that was scattered around various books. He made some minor changes but it was not the big leap forward.

He did just what he was supposed to do, so it's not his fault. Torg R&E lacks a lot of the rules that were published in the different world books because WEG hoped to sell backstock. Though there are some rules clarification but no streamlining of overcomplicated rules (f.i. spells that all use the same rules). I am not sure, but I have the feeling KJ also calculated the spells anew.

We, the fans urged Eric to publish it, but this was a mistake. For players new to Torg, this book is practically useless as it comes without a worldbook. It is so stuffed with rules that new players get the impression that Torg is an overly complicated game (which is essentially true with the reality mechnisms, but it is less heavy on rules than most RPGs).

I would love to see two additional books. The first should be a supplement and include all those rules left out (f.i. psi rules), a short version complete with indices of all spells, miracles, pulp powers, martial arts, psi powers, eternity shards, shard powers and specials (comaghaz psi powers, Tharkoldu powers, Elf monk powers etc.).

The second should be a world book for all featured worlds, with a short overview of the cosm and realm, a short version of all the creatures featured for that realm, an index of all information featured for that realm, a good map (especially for Aysle) with an index of all featured sites (look for the Aden campaign chronicles to see how this is best done) and a brief timeline for that realm.

At the very least, this book requires a follow-up book that contains the rest of the information originally presented in the box set.
So far -- by my somewhat remote understanding as I never trusted the ordering procedure enough to order my own copy after people started posting about 3 to 6 month waits on getting the book which I believe some STILL have not gotten -- the book contains about 30% of the actual original box set.
1. No info on prepping adventures. The entire Adventure Book unrepresented.
2. No "first look" Cosm information that was never reprinted in the actual World books.
3. No original set templates that were also never properly updated to the World books.
4. Absence of the Drama Deck -- which in theory could be ordered separately but was never actually reprinted for sale.

The book did what it was to do -- replace only the rulebook in the box set.
However, it still requires ownership of the rest of the box set to utilize properly.

Nope. Except for I think one or two spells with game mechanical problems I just copied the spells in the R&E from previously published books, didn't tinker with them.
