I noticed the Advertising forum under General Roleplaying, do you plan on hosting banner ads for publishers too?

I despise banners on sites. Unless someone gives me a great argument to have them, they will not be on this site. The primary purpose that people have them is for cash. They sell the banner space and get paid for it. I do not need the cash.

If a person wants to get something out there that is really really important for everyone to know, then I will consider my options.

I am planning on expanding this website to include a home page and other unique pages. Perhaps on the Home Page I will have some sort of advertisement thing. I would like people coming here not to go directly to the forum section, but the main page when it is completed. The main page is going to be the hud for this site, not the forums.

That's cool. I really hate banners that aren't directly related to the content of the site they're on. I figured you could host some banners from those publishing content, and use the cash to help offset the cost of server space and other site-related costs like. It would kind of be a way for those of us planning to put things out for D6 to reach our targeted audience, and give back to the site at the same time.

I like the idea of having a portal page to come to first. Even though most folks don't like theRPGsite, I really like the way they've set up their portal page. You can see several of the forums recent postings without having to enter the forums themselves. If you can set up the home page in a similar fashion, I know I'd appreciate it!

I do have installed vbdynamics, which is similiar to what WFF has as the content management page. I just haven't made it active. I am leaning toward not using it at all and simply creating my own front page.

Again money isn't a problem for me (thank goodness). The site is paid for 3 years, so there is no further money cost for me until the 3rd year. So charging for banner space on any level isn't a priority for me.

That's great! I did the same with my own web page, didn't want to have to fiddle with payments a year after getting up and running. Well, no problems then!
