I am working on putting together an updated version of Shatterzone. What would you prefer to see for the ruleset being used for the new version of Shatterzone:
A) The Torg Ruleset
B) The New D6 Ruleset

Definitely A.
This could also be used for a version of Torg in space.

Both actually, as I've said a number of times, the more people who can access the setting through their preferred rules, the more interest the setting will gain.

Well that just gave me an idea for a Torg Cosmo...
But thanks for the input

Do you really think there are many people who outright loath the TORG system that duel stating is needed?
I mean lets face it, the D6 system core books are selling like hotcakes so it's not as if there are a ton of people out there clamering for it. Only the true dedicated fans are buying the books it seems.

To be fair, each of the D6 Core books did sell a couple thousand copies. I still managed to overestimate the demand (or was it underestimate the industry slump) and printed too many.
The large backstock of books had more to do with my poorer than need be homework, then the product demand.

Also, demand is no longer of the sort where everyone drops onto the new product on day one, making it an instant success UNLESS you have the advertising allotment of a very major RPG company like White Wolf or WotC.

Ok I will agree with this. Now back on topic...

When you say "updated" do you mean revised, changed and/or new source material or do you just mean converting old SZ stuff into either Torg or D6 terms?

D6! D6! D6!
This is not out of any loathing whatsoever of Torg. I have nothing against Torg or Masterbook. But I play D6.

In War's End there is a good conversion from Torg to Masterbook. In World of Aden there is a conversion from Masterbook to D6 (I don't know how good it works, I haven't tried it yet). But it is surely doomed to failure to convert from Torg to Masterbook to D6. Does anyone know of a good direct conversion from Torg to D6?

Masterbook to D6 is essentially TORG to D6.
Instead of Masterbook values, just insert TORG values.
since they are all numerically compatible, there is no great difficulty.

I wouldn't call it a good conversion system. It leaves a lot of things unsaid and many more things unaddressed. I covered a lot of the problems I found with the conversion notes in a review I did of War's End that's on my website in the Miscellaneous section. The conversion notes are covered in the last third of the Epilogue review.
I tried to address most of the deficiencies in that conversion with the MB conversion notes I provided in Chapter Nine of the Revised & Expanded rulebook.
Does anyone know of a good direct conversion from Torg to D6?
There is also a conversion system from Torg to D6 in the R&E rulebook but this was to the generic D6 which WEG published in the 90s, not to the current version(s) of D6 so some parts of it may need to be addressed differently.
Didn't WEG have a Torg to D6 conversion PDF on their website somewhere at one time?

What I am working on is an updated version of Shatterzone using the D6 system which will be done from scratch with information from the book updated and expanded.
It's a big project and I really like Shatterzone but I really don't care for the rules the original version came with. I think D6 (as of from D6 space) will do a better job for Shatterzone then the current rules.
