I was told by a friend that there was something similar to a cloning contract in one of the books, but he didn't know which. Was he pulling my leg? I haven't even heard of anything like that let alone read it, and I own basically all the d6 books.

Welcome to the board, Tetsuoh! I'm not sure what you mean by "contract". Do you mean a legal document promising the amount of reimbursement someone like Jango Fett will be paid for being a clone host? But it seems you mean something related to game mechanics since you mentioned having all the D6 books...

Thank you for the greetings Whill, I'm glad I was able to find a board for the SW D6 system.

And I'm referring to game mechanics for the star wars d6 system - or possibly the d20 seeing as I had never seen this before.

What he was implying was a contract with a cloning company that upon notification of your death, the company would clone you from a source of genetic material taken at the time the contract was paid for. Evidently You could also leave inventory in their care to supply said clone.

Sorry, that doesn't ring any bells. I do have all WEG Star Wars D6 books, but I'd be lying if I said I've used or even read all of them.

eh don't feel bad - I've at least skimmed through most and I don't remember anything like it either - I'm betting he got it from a wotc d20 book.

It is either from a WotC source or from a netbook. The only cloning stuff mentioned in the WEG line should be the cloning chambers found on Wayland in the Zahn novel, Dark Force Rising.

I would trust Cryonic on these matters. I'm sure he is right. WEG did have a Dark Empire sourcebook and the comic book it was based on involved Palpatine transfering his essense from clone body to clone body, but I doubt there was anything in there about your average Joe Q. Star-Wars-Character having the ability to pay some cloner to clone you upon death so there is a copy of you still alive in the galaxy. That would really have nothing to do with the Emperor using the Dark Side of the Force to actually transfer his essense to a new body which is a bit more than just having a clone copy of him. Something like that would probably come up somewhere in the Star Wars EU in light of the last two prequels and the Clone Wars, which would mean it would be long after WEG Star Wars.

It sounds like Gold Cross from Car Wars ;)

Perhaps SLA Industries... or Paranoia.

I remember reading something about this in a d20 book. I can't remember exactly what the math was, but I do remember they used they used the price of a droid as a reference. A slave was twice the the cost of a droid doing the same task and a clone was something like five times the cost.

How to arrange a memory dump from this I have no idea.
