I was puttering around on this site and it filled me with nostalgia for an old DC Universe/World of Darkness crossover game I ran in college with the DCU system. I puttered around on my hard drive and came up with some alternative damage rules that I instituted for my relatively low-powered game. Here's how they look all polished up and uploaded to google docs.
Gimmie some feedback

You may have some sort of security in place on the document - I'm getting this - (took out my email because of spambots - they're tasty, but annoying):
"We're sorry, but (deleted) does not have access to this document.
You are signed in as (deleted), but that email account hasn't been granted permission to this document."

Seems to be working now. At least, it opened for me.
I like the revised damage rules. I'm also a big Alternity fan and had tried to integrate the systems myself without much luck, kudos.

Thanks! The stun/wound/mortal damage thing was, indeed, culled from Alternity. One of the things I think that system got right.
As to the document, I'd actually only shared it before as opposed to publishing it. It should be working now :)
Any specific comments?

The damage system is interesting. I'm not very familiar with Alternity. Seems like a reasonable way of playing wounds and mortality in a supers setting.
Upon first looking over it, the only thing I notice that I'd probably want to ignore is the limit of 1 point of Mortal damage healed per week by medicine.
Overall, seems like a lot of good detail, and nice work!

I've been reading over this for a few hours now, and I'd definitely make use of this if I were running DCU as written - it addresses most if not all of the problems I had with the wounding rules in the game. It's interesting that I've got Alternity in my collection but the connection didn't click until it was mentioned in this thread. Definitely a case of "two great tastes that taste great together."
A+ work, Rubio. An impressive and elegant solution!

Bear in mind that my game took place in Gotham at PL2, so I never got a chance to play things through with JLA-level supers. I'm not sure how it woud pan out with folks throwing powers in the 15-20D range at each other. Also, no one had the Invulnerability power, so I never saw how this interacted with that.
On the healing front, I think you're right. I was erring on the side of WoD-style grit at the time of writing many moons ago. For a more Gotham Knights/Birds of Prey feel, I would probably change that to allowing only 1 point of mortal damage to be healed per day with medical treatment, and 1 per week unassisted.

D'aww shucks, yer makin' me blush.
I just wanted people to feel threatened by having guns waved in their faces. Also, one of my players was a garou (lifted straight from Werewolf the Apocalypse) and I figured that silver bullets needed a slightly better treatment. Another of my players was a former GCPD detective who had a magical caster gun straight out of Outlaw Star, and it deserved a bit better treatment than just a standard shotgun.
