Board Colors

Hi folks!

Grimace invited me on board to check out things, and I jumped at the chance. Well, I clicked a link and came on over anyways. :D

I really love the decorum so far. The only thing I would probable change would be the overall background color. It's too dark. Though it doesn't affect the reading of the boards, it just gives the board a depressed feel. Maybe something along the lines of the top navbar background (gray I think). It would fit with the other colors, and lighten up the place a bit, while still having a dark enough tone. One of the tans might work too, but that might be overkill.

I just played around with the skins and found that the default for the boards is set to Armada-Fixed. I switched to Armada-Fluid, and the color scheme looks much better. I also like the Aquateen colors as well.

Welcome and thanks for participating on this project while I try and iron out all the issues with the site. If there is a style out there that you would like to see here, let me know about it and I will see about installing it.

I'm gonna have to agree.. the Red on Black color scheme is a pain to read.

On the bottom of the pages here, you can select a different one. Check out the others and see if any of those appease you.

Call me plain, but I'm ok with the default setting. In general, dark text on light backgrounds are easy to read. I'll have to take a look at the choices when I get more time.

Here is the thing with the styles. Since I have a bunch of customization that I am going to the board, every style needs to be individually done. So if I can narrow it down to 3 at most styles, one being the default one, I will be happy. Right now we have 4, 2 being the same one but with fix and liquid lengths.

But I am not sure if you guys like the ones selected.

The Armada-Fluid style works better than the Fixed version for me. The darkness of the overall background color was just too much. As for an optional style that you already have installed, the Aquateen is very nice, but I really like the techno-type bars of the Armada style (techno-geeky I reckon!)

I'll check the skin site you posted and make any suggestions if I see something I like better.

Whew, ok, yeah, I didn't know I could change the options. I switched to Aquateen and that seems to work for me.

Ok at the end of Sunday (today) if no new styles get put on the block I am going to keep the below three as the permanent ones. All others will be delete and not consider anymore. So again, if you want one, voice now.

I pretty much always use Armada Fluid. I've checked out the other styles between "default" and "aquateen". In my opinion...they're just blah. So as long as Armada is still there, I'm happy. :)
