That's right, I will be getting a nice copy of Star Wars D6 Expanded and Revised and I am really looking forward to it.
I will give it a read over. Maybe I will run a play by post game here.

Thanks I sure will. Because of the holiday weekend it wont be until into the next week when I get it but I cannot wait.
I would like to run a PBP game once I have read the book. I wonder if there would be enough interest?

One nice thing about that book is its really a good read, but Ill admit, I hate it as a reference source because I have a hard time remembering where the assorted tables you need are all hidden and finding various different things in it is a chore
But if you play the system enough you can wind up memorizing all the relevant tables

That's why I love my GM screen! I lucked out and won an eBay for both the book and the screen for $12 bucks!!!

How good of shape were they? I am paying more, but its supposed to be in really good shape.

Both are near mint/very good, minimal wear, binding not broken, no marks anywhere, etc. I was really lucky! They didn't even smell of cigarette smoke like so many other books I've purchased online.

I know what you mean. I won a game book on auction and it reaked of cigarette smoke and it drove me mad.
The was the one and only time that has happened to me though

Thank you for the information.
Well the book I won on ebay was paid for but I still haven't heard back from the person.
I am hoping that its because they are on vacation and not because of anything inappropriate.
I am bummed because I really want to get my hands on that copy of Star Wars D6 R&E

So I am going to try to contact the person again and see what happens. I would hate to have to deal with ebay (I have done that before and it sucks) but I don't want to be out money either.
I just want my Star Wars D6 Book!
Wish me luck.

How long ago was it that you won the bid? I won one once and it took almost a month before I got my product.

I'm PLANNING (as I have for 8 months) to put all of my Old World of Darkness up on E*Bay and I hope I don't cause this level of frustration when I finally get set up for bids/sending out books.

Were you ever notified of a shipment? Or are you still waiting to even hear anything. With eBay I usually get something stating it shipped, or at least that payment was recieved.

I was over a week now (maybe 2 weeks). I have emailed the person but I haven't gotten any response. I would hate to have to go to ebay about this but I may not have a choice.

You can also get your money back via paypal.
I've never had any issue with Amazon. Several years of purchases and I haven't even had to resolve an issue let alone been stiffed.

Right now I have done just that and I am waiting to hear back. It really pisses me off because it will make me hesitant to bid on things from ebay in the future.
Hopefully it will work out.

Mike, you did the right thing. You waited, you contacted, and failing the contact, you filed a complaint with eBay and PayPal. Along with leaving a negative rating, the seller's credibility is now shot.
This is just the reality of dealing with eBay. Don't let it stop you from bidding again. I have bought over 100 items off ebay now, 3 times have had to file protests.

If the seller has a rep below 98%, or less than a feedback score of 100, don't buy. That's my rule, period.
That can be hard to do as a buyer, but sellers build score quick. I think after 10 years on Ebay as a buyer and occasional seller, I have a 250 or so rating. I'd just rather use another source if possible.

Yeah, you are right. Though it probably will be a while before I bid again. I just hate losing money.

The seller's rep is 99.6% which is damn good (Mine, of course is 100%).

I looked and couldnt get any information about where he is. That could be the reason. I think I am going to give it a couple days and then I am going to get my money back.

I think it's interesting that the users here have had such a negative experience with eBay. I've got over 40 Star Wars books and supplements, and the vast majority of them came from eBay. (Not to mention the other knickknacks I've picked up such as an antique mining lamp, Star Wars minis, a couple of games, and so on.)
I think I've only had two not-so-good experiences, and never anything where I wound up loosing money.

Overall I've had a very good experience. I also have a policy of ordering from people with a very high feedback % through eBay, Half.com and Amazon.
I have a had a couple things on eBay that took a long time to arrive, but no other real problems (knocks on wood). I even ordered a record album sucessfully from England one time.
But I ordered one thing from Canada and the guy screwed up with customs requirements so it got sent back and he didn't realize it for a while, but he eventually re-shipped it. As a result of that experience, I no longer order anything from outside of the USA.
I acquired at least 1/4th of my Star Wars D6 books from eBay. I love eBay!

I am tired of this. I want my money back I cannot wait to hear back from this guy anymore.
He has been given plenty of time to get back to me. All of the attempts to communicate have been made by me.
I am asking for a refund. The hell with this. And the person is getting a negative comment.

Yeah, well I am on it so I will let everyone know how it goes.
It really makes me mad too.
Funny thing is I dont recall getting an indicator that the money has been accepted, so it may not be a problem with the person being crooked.

I just got a message from the person selling the book. Apparently his computer crashed and he was unable to get my emails and unaware the book had sold.
I am sure he could have gone somewhere else to check while his computer was down for 2 weeks, but anyway he said he is sending it priority to me and aplogised for the delay.
I will leave the dispute open until I get it. I will let you know if/when it arrives.

Depending on his location and situation, he might not have had that option.
I NEVER use the Email function inherent with the computer, I ALWAYS use Gmail or other online Email accounts.
But some companies demand you NOT use any of the online Email accounts and only use the one attached to the actual computer.
If he had used the one attached to his actual computer then yes he might actually have to wait.
But even if he had an online Email account it could STILL be a problem.
After all, I could point out a small town in my corner of my state that is easily 90 minutes from any town large enough to even have a library where free computer access could be obtained.
The person might not have a car and must walk wherever.
Luckily, this small town I mentioned does have a post office, though it has part time hours and most people must interact with it on a Saturday because the 10AM to 12PM, 1PM to 3PM -- a total of 4 hours right in the middle of the work day when most people drive at least 50 minutes one way to the nearest population center to work, a town of about 2500 -- just isn't feasible.
(Or they use the other town's postal service on the lunch break IF it doesn't coincide with the post office's lunch break.)
Every which way, this is just a case of it being a situation beyond everyone's control.

Yeah, if he had open auctions then he should have tried to check on them elsewhere, if he wasn't 50 miles away from the nearest computer that is. My e-mail is an application loaded on my computer, but it also has a no-frills webmail counterpart that I can access from my wife's computer or anywhere.
But anyway Mike, I'm very glad to read that at least you finally heard from him and he seems to want to get it to you asap. I know you'll let us know when you get it. I think you said you never played it but you used to have it a long time ago and got rid of it, so after you read it over I'd be interested in reading what you think about it. In my humble opinion, it is the greatest D6 rule book ever made.

I had it and I have played it. Actually the last time I got rid of the Star Wars book will have been the third time I have owned it.
I plan to run it (perhaps in my local group if that happens) and most likely in a play by post game here.

OK, third time's a charm then. I have sold and later re-purchased several game books so I understand.
I can't say I'm not at all interested in a Star Wars D6 PBP game run by you here, and maybe I'll give it a shot as a player (but I'll never run one myself).

Now I just have to get to reading. Since I got my Shatterzone stuff at the same time I have a lot of reading to do.

Yes, I would be interested in these items. I wonder, if these items are good if we should make a page for them here and make the available to all SW D6 Players.
