In case any of you find a reasonably priced copy of the original boxed set, please ping me by private message. By reasonable I mean ~20 bucks or less.
My 7 yr old has fallen gaga for the original movie, and in reading the wiki review of the game :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostbusters_(role-playing_game)
It looks good. I like it's simplifications throughout. I think he will like it a lot.
Once the PC version of the recent 25th anny video game comes down to reasonable price (19.99 or less) I may have to pick it up too. He's been hounding me about it.

Well, 20 bucks may be a pipe dream...

Phewwww.
I wish that WEG could get their hands on the original files that created the box sets of old, and release them as PDF for a reasonable price; but I'm thinking due to original licensing, WEG of today, does not own the WEG products of old.

I don't think they legally could release them as they have long since lost the license to that product.

Right. There would have to be a new license.

You might be able to find it cheaper at a local used book store. I think I've seen a copy or two at my local Bookman's.

With Ghost Busters 3 being in the making, maybe WEG should look into getting this game back in print?

Given how hard it was to get Septimus off the ground, I'm guessing that movie licensing is not really on the WEG radar.
I'm surprised that the GB RPG is such a collectible. I've got pretty good hunting skills for cheap and rare rpgs. I'll do some sniffing and I'll send you a PM if I find anything interesting.

Not sure how popular it would be as an RPG anymore or even if the license would be affordable.

It looked like an interesting premise, actually the premise is closer to the original movie idea than the movie's final product was.
I've been doing some initial searches with some of my sources, and it looks like the best I can do is $60 so far. But I'll keep digging.

A Fellow fan scanned the books into the Ghostbuster Fan Website here (http://www.gbfans.com/games/ghostbusters-RPG/). I saved each page as a JPEG, inserted them into Open Office, and saved the Manuals as PDfs. There may easier was to find them, but not cheaper ones...
