Thank you Mr. S., not only for creating this WEG fan board but also specifically this Star Wars D6 forum. It has been my favorite RPG for 20 years strong.

May the Force be with you.

I agree that SW D6 is a great system and I think (and I may be bias) that SW D6 is the best version of a Star Wars RPG ever put out (SW D6 R&E is the best).

Again I may be bias

I agree with R&E being the best published D6, but as far as D6 verses d20? No contest. I do have to admit that I've never played Star Wars d20, but I've owned all 3 editions of core books, and I have many (but not quite all) of the other books for all 3 editions of the game. I've tried to read the game mechanics as much as I can before I start feeling physically ill.

Heck, my childhood homebrew Star Wars RPG I invented in the Summer of 1983 was better than any edition of the d20 game, because it much more cinematic and in the spirit of the movies. d20 is clunky, like Threepio blown to pieces kind of clunky.

But Star Wars D6 is smooth, like Lando flying the Falcon out of Death Star II kind of smooth. My copy of the 1E rule book (that I bought where i worked in November of 1987) is like my ten commandments Moses brought down from Mt. Sinai.

Yeah, I guess I'm "biased" too.

I totally agree. I think D20 is too rules heavy and tactical to give you the feel of the star wars movies. D6 just does it better. Whether you use the official star wars books or D6 space it just feels right.
