I'm reading over my copy of d6 Fantasy, and I don't understand this line in the descriptions of Racial packages:

Total defined limit cost: 1 attribute die or 4 skill dice

Can anyone elaborate?

Thanks

To balance out the benefits of the package you have to give up 1 attribute die or 4 skill dice during character creation. To make up for the packages benefits. that is if your using the defined limits character creation rules.

If your using the creation point pool for character creation than the cost of the template is 4 character creation points.

I'm no expert of D6 Fantasy, but that sounds like it is just refering to the different options of creating characters.

If using the standard 18 attrubute dice plus 7 skill dice, then to make a PC of that species, it would cost you 1 die in attributes or 4 dice in skills. So you would have only 17 dice for attributes plus 7 dice for skills, or 18 dice in attributes plus only 3 dice in skills.

If using the point build character creation, it would cost 4 points to make that species, which equals 1D in attibutes or 4D in skills.

This cost would presumable be to offset some advantages or special abilites that come with that racial package.

Sorry Hanzo, I was typing before I knew you had already replied, and your post went through first. Of course, you are correct.

Ah, thank you both very much. That makes perfect sense now.

I was not reading it as being one way or the other, and it confused me.

Much appreciated.
